Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

5/5
I have a very front-office, markets based role. I am responsible for taking notes during meetings with clients, asking questions and contributing to discussions surrounding equity markets. I also help to create and send out invites to clients and I write a daily newsletter email.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

5/5
There’s a nice balance of work and University so I still get some semblance of the student life during my sprint weeks (a week of learning at university between work weeks). It’s not easy but I don’t regret choosing this path.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

5/5
Yes, we got our CISI qualifications (UK Financial Regulations, Securities and Derivatives) quite early on in the programme and that really helped accelerate my learning at work.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

5/5
Amazing structure and very open to our suggestions about improving the programme given its novelty.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

5/5
The employer provides lots of support!

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

4/5
QMUL is usually quite good but they could be better at having clearer timetables and communication.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

4/5
Not through any fault of the course, work is very different from university and in all cases the degree you do can only aide you so much in the workplace. However, the choice of degree is most fitting and I have no complaints about that.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

5/5
I do socialise with my team (a testament to good work culture here) and there’s a lot on offer especially in terms of volunteering.
