Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
The insight was organised in a hybrid programme. On the first two days, we learned more about the company on Zoom. We had interesting discussion sessions where we could ask different questions and got a deep insight into the company as a whole and not only into our department. The following two days we were in the office. There we got in touch with our buddies and other participants of the spring week.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
At the beginning it was completely overwhelming. Because I was only focused on my specific area. But over time I learned that the different departments have to work together to find the best solutions for the client. The Zoom meetings programme was well structured and we were always very well informed.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
The various networking opportunities made the conversations with peers and seniors feel much more natural. In addition, exercises such as the IPO and the case study on a previous deal helped me to strengthen my knowledge of the industry. Most valuable for me were the job shadowing days. There I could ask any question. My buddy even explained the technical concepts and the daily work routine to me.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The most important thing I can say about the culture is that Citi is a truly global bank. This has been demonstrated because everyone has a different background and is therefore willing to support and help each other. That is what sets Citi apart and why I want to continue my career at Citi.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I enjoyed this insight very much. The mixture of fun at the farewell event and the interesting panels was fantastic. The presentations gave us an insight that would not have been possible if we had not participated in the Spring Insight programme.

My tip that I could give to an applicant. As everyone says: you have to be yourself. Only with your real attitude can you check whether the culture and the environment are right for you.
