Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
Experiencing the culture of the firm and gaining an insight into the type of work the firm does. We were also given two formally assessed research tasks in addition to non-assessed tasks from supervisors. There were talks provided by different practice areas and committees within the firm.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was really helpful for developing a fuller understanding of the legal industry as a whole and the firmwide strategy at Latham. It was especially helpful for understanding why things happen a certain way, and how you as an applicant/potential trainee fit in with the overall business.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
I learned a lot more about the role of a corporate lawyer. I developed my ability to conduct practical legal research and the ability to put the results of this research into a format that is useful for both a supervisor and a client. I also learned about negotiating various documents and marking up warranties.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The company culture and general atmosphere were both really positive. Everyone was welcoming, patient and very willing to offer their time to chat. Everyone seemed genuinely happy to be there and seemed very comfortable being themselves.
