Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
These four daysof Spring Week (two virtual and two face-to-face) allowed us to learn more about Citi Bank, its different divisions and to be able to network with as many people as possible to understand a little more in detail the operation of each part of the bank. It also allowed me to see the different daily tasks of the M&A execution division, to meet the team and see the caring environment that surrounds this product-related division.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was extremely interesting through various virtual sessions at first, then face-to-face, to be able to discover each division of the bank and more particularly BCMA (Banking, Capital Markets & Advisory) for my part. The different employees who came to present their job to us were all extremely interesting and captivating and always ready to answer our questions. This was also the case during our work shadowing sessions where the two buddies responsible for introducing me to their division were able to answer all my questions and clearly help me to orient me for my future.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
These few days allowed me to improve my listening skills, attention but above all socialization. The main objective of this program is to be able to meet as many people as possible, to be able to discuss with other Spring interns, but also with analysts, associates, VPs….
This is the first thing I will remember from this experience, it is above all to be interested in everyone and to be able to have an overview of everyone while being caring, committed and interested.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
From what we have seen during these four rather short days is that the values and the atmosphere that reign at Citi are completely different from other companies or banks. Each employee is ready to help the other, they all work hand in hand, support each other, plan many activities to be able to learn a little more about each of their colleagues…
I clearly did not think that the atmosphere and the environment at Citi would have been just as positive and caring.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
Apart from being able to get an insight into the bank, I was able to speak with a large number of motivating and extremely interesting employees. I expected a lot from this experience and I was not disappointed, the atmosphere that reigns at Citi is clearly a crucial point. This insight was extremely formative and enriching for me and I am already looking forward to being able to return to Citi for a longer period!

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Citi
If I had to give advice to other people applying to Citi, it would be to do a lot of research on the bank and try to be able to network with employees via LinkedIn beforehand if possible. As for interviews, I can only advise to be natural, humble and motivated and explain the different reasons that justify your application at Citi. Then, if the interviews allow you to be accepted for the Spring, I can only advise you to take advantage of this unique experience by speaking with as many people as possible.
