Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
The insight programme was split into two online days and three in-person days. The two online days were mostly entered around providing information on the bank and its different divisions, as well as also providing skills workshops and interactive projects. The three in person days included various skills workshops, information sessions, networking opportunities and desk shadowing to provide a better understanding of the bank and the different divisions within it.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was extremely insightful to learn about all of the different possible avenues that I could take if I was to join Deutsche Bank as there is a role for everyone depending on your skills and preferred working style. It was satisfying to be able to now make an informed decision on my future based on my newly consolidated understanding of investment banks.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
Yes I definitely developed my communication skills during the programme as we were encouraged to participate in all activities and there were many networking opportunities and chances to ask questions during desk shadowing. I also learnt a lot about the types of technical skills that will be required on the job in order to prepare me for the job role.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The company culture really shone through throughout the entire programme as we were exposed to current employees and were able to shadow their desks which gave a real-life understanding of what it would be like to work there. The atmosphere was encouraging and friendly, but also professional which I felt gave a good balance.

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I really enjoyed the insight as I felt like it gave me a good insight into life at Deutsche Bank and I was given the opportunity to meet so many encouraging employees and meet like minded peers.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Deutsche Bank
I would say just be confident and friendly in your interview and make the most of the opportunity once you are there and network with as many people as possible. Try to make sure you leave there with a good understanding of the bank and where you fit into it.
