Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
A well structured programme with a set schedule based on Global Banking or Markets designed to provide interactive talks/Q&As, with following case-studies and trading games to emulate the experiences of Graduate Analysts. There was also networking opportunities with staff firmware who have had prior experiences in Corporate Finance.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
Very good - there was large coverage of all business areas relevant to GBM including those not as widely known.

The programme was highly collaborative, utilising critical thinking and analytical skills - particularly during the trading games. Interpersonal and communicative skills were also key to succeeding on the programme.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
A very conducive, collaborative and buzzing atmosphere being located in the heart of London's financial district. There was incredible insights into the companies' initiatives behind ESG and D&I.

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I incredibly enjoyed the insight as it brought together like-minded individuals who share common interest in Corporate Finance. It was fantastic to get a real in-depth look into the operations behind a Global Bank such as HSBC.

For HSBC, there's a big focus on people skills and curiosity. Demonstrating this through interviews/assessments is key and how you can convey your ideas to others whilst also accepting the ideas of others is important. Take a look into what makes you curious about a career in Finance.
