Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

My role is a mix of governance support, performance/MI reporting, people engagement, and project delivery. Day to day, I help the team run smoothly by keeping key rhythms in motion (stand-ups, reporting packs, actions/minutes), supporting continuous improvement, and delivering assigned projects that improve customer and colleague outcomes.
1) Governance & assurance support (BPM / MI and oversight routines)
- Attend and contribute to daily stand-ups
- Support the Business Performance governance pack: studying the pack/MI, updating Excel workbooks, collating content, and improving how insights are communicated
- Join governance meetings and produce minutes/action logs
- Keep governance artefacts accurate and up to date
2) Project work to simplify processes and improve quality
- Progress the AI Document Reader Business Task to support colleagues validating documents.
- Drive process improvements like Recognition Streamlining—designing a BAU submission method for easier recognition capture and quicker retrieval for newsletters.
3) People engagement and communications
- Take end-to-end ownership of weekly newsletters: send content request emails, collate updates, create the newsletter document, and distribute it for regular engagement, recognition and performance updates.
- Support wider engagement activity such as townhall planning, comms requests, and setting up channels.
- Support team events and initiatives including Work Experience Days and leadership offsites.
4) Stakeholder management, learning and continuous development
- Schedule and run catch-ups with stakeholders across the business and provide progress updates via emails and meetings.
- Contribute to intern/community initiatives that build capability and share knowledge

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

Yes — I’ve both learnt new skills and strengthened existing ones.
- Governance reporting & pack management: I learnt how governance packs are structured, what “good” looks like, and how to support collation, version control, and timely submission. I also learnt how to turn MI into a clear narrative.
- AI / automation delivery basics: I gained hands-on experience shaping an AI Document Reader —requirements gathering, discovery calls, test document sourcing, basic prompt/task set-up, and preparing stakeholder launch communications.
- Process improvement design: I developed practical skills in simplifying a process end-to-end including mapping the pain points, designing a solution, iterating with feedback, and planning implementation.
Existing skills I'vestrengthened
- Stakeholder management & collaboration: I strengthened my ability to work across teams, set up meetings, gather feedback, and keep people aligned.
- Communication (written and verbal): I improved day-to-day professional communication through various tasks and projects. I also strengthened verbal communication through presentations/panels and pitch preparation.
- Analytical thinking & attention to detail: I strengthened data/MI interpretation and quality control through pack study, Excel workbook updates, and ensuring outputs were accurate and consistent for governance reporting.
- Prioritisation & delivery under pressure: Managing BAU alongside projects strengthened my planning, prioritisation, and ability to deliver consistently.
