Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

I was working in the change team for M&S Bank for the contact centre, so in a nutshell if there was anything that was chnaging that impacted the contact centre in anyway we would facilitate that change.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Medium amount. I had work regarding how to improve challenges in other teams and I was responsible for some projects.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

Yes, I have learnt and developed many skils throughout my time at HSBC. This is what has made it such a valuble experince. Some of these skill include; communictaion, ownership, drive and self-awareness just to name a few. These skills will be with me and will shape my career for the future.

I have had the biggest suport network from before I started my placement to the very end. The early careers team, my buddy, and manager have all created space for me grow in a professional environment.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Company culture was a great environment to be in, everyone made me feel so comfortable which made me perform better on a day-to-day. Everyone is very inclusive and wants to help. Even though I wasn't in a 'hub' location I still felt included and I belonged as part of the wider company.

Just to be your true self and focus on building your own personal brand. THis will give you the confidence to suceed. Also to get involved with as much as you can.
