Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
Everyday has been different whilst being on work experience as a HR assistant at Matalan. Some days I have worked with recruitment where I have been looking through CVs, conducting telephone interviews and shadowing meetings. Some days I have been working with the Talent Attractions team, by going to career fairs to promote the business and attract new candidates. Other days I have covered compensation, employee benefits, training and development, compliance, researching and work safety.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
I had a very detailed induction when I started at Matalan and if I had any other questions, my supervisor was easy to contact and informed me of any additional information I needed to know.

I have learn't so many new skills at my time with Matalan that I will be able to implement into future career prospects. They have been things like employee relations, onboarding, team work, collaboration, communication and talent attraction.
