Trainee Assistant Garment Technologist IP Review

Providing technical expertise throughout the garment production process from initial design to final product, working on Ladies/Men’s jersey, sports, nightwear, essentials and knitwear.
Worked closely with buying teams and manufactures to ensure garments are manufactured correctly and efficiently all while focusing on the quality of the products.
Attended weekly fit sessions, providing input, taking all notes and necessary images to improve the products alongside a senior member of staff. Independently ensure all fit amendments were made and accurately communicated to overseas suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and maintain strong business relationships.

Yes I had opportunities to work independently on different product ranges.

I developed both technical and soft skills including resilience and confidence. Technical skills included fit process and amending samples.

I had some support from the wider tech team and buying teams. I could have been provided better support from my line manager and more senior members of the business

Everyone was happy to help and check if you are ok. The office could be quite busy and stressful sometimes as a lot of teams work on each floor

Overall it would good, I learned a lot about the industry and how things work. There were opportunities I would have liked to experience but as the team was so busy these weren't able to happen. I enjoyed the work I was completing and felt apart of the team.
