Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
Helping the Buyer on the department and working alongside the Assistant Buyer and Trainee Assistant Buyer. Tasks included organising samples, attending team meetings, attending supplier video conferences, and gathering data from other retailer's websites
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
I gained an understanding of what functions of the business the buying team need to collaborate with - for example Ecommerce, Marketing and Retail - and how they all work alongside each other to develop strategies and deliver commercial product ranges into the stores and on the website.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
It helped me understand the role of the buying function with a retailer. It gave me some awareness of the daily and weekly tasks the team are required to do. It was also great experience working in a team environment in an office space. These learnings will be valuable for me before I start my degree in Fashion Business Management.
