Student Ambassador Review

As an MMU Student Ambassador, my role involves representing Manchester Metropolitan University and supporting prospective and current students. On a day-to-day basis, I may help at open days and university events, speak to prospective students and their families, answer questions about university life, and provide guidance around the campus. I also support staff with events and activities, helping to create a welcoming and positive experience for visitors and students. The role requires good communication, teamwork, reliability and the ability to confidently interact with people from different backgrounds.

Yes, I was given a good level of responsibility during my role as a Student Ambassador. I was trusted to represent Manchester Metropolitan University at events, speak directly with prospective students and visitors, answer questions about student life, and help people navigate the university campus. I received a good level of support and guidance throughout my role as a Student Ambassador. Before events, I was given information about my responsibilities and what was expected of me. University staff and experienced ambassadors were available to answer questions and provide guidance when needed. As I became more familiar with the role, I was able to carry out tasks more independently while still having support available when required.

The culture was friendly, welcoming and supportive. There was a strong sense of teamwork, with Student Ambassadors and university staff working together to make events run smoothly. Everyone was approachable and willing to help each other, which created a positive atmosphere. I also felt encouraged to communicate with different people and take responsibility for my tasks.

I really enjoyed being a Student Ambassador because I genuinely liked being able to help other students. Having gone through the university experience myself, I could relate to some of the questions and concerns prospective students had and share my own experiences with them. I especially enjoyed speaking to people at events, meeting new people and seeing their confidence grow when they got the answers they were looking for. It also made me feel proud to represent MMU and be part of the university community.
