Project Facilitator Review

Overall, my experience at Manchester Met has been very positive and has given me opportunities to develop both academically and personally. Taking part in the Rise Above the Noise project was particularly valuable, as it allowed me to step outside my usual academic work, support an international research-led project and work with students from different backgrounds. It helped me build my confidence in facilitating discussions, communicating with participants and working collaboratively. I also really enjoyed being part of a project that connected students from Manchester and Paris and gave me practical experience alongside my studies.

My main responsibilities were supporting the workshops, giving guidance before the activity, helping participants engage with the activities, answering questions and making sure the sessions ran smoothly. I worked with my team to facilitate the activities, including the Actor–Action–Actor analysis, and used tools such as Miro and Microsoft Teams to support the sessions. I particularly enjoyed interacting with participants and helping them feel comfortable contributing their ideas. I also enjoyed working as part of an international team and being involved in a research-led project, as it was a different experience from my usual academic work.

An excellent opportunity that helped me improve my communocation skill and made me feel valued while helping participants.

I got the package that I deserved for the work delivered.

It definitely helped to be a good a communicator which I believe will add value for my career.
