Corporate Bank Summer Analyst Review

During my summer internship at Deutsche Bank, I worked within the Corporate Bank. I supported the cash management sales team on client-related work and developing my understanding of payments, liquidity and treasury solutions. Day to day, I conducted client and sector research, contributed to a client profiling project, attended team meetings and engaged with colleagues across the Corporate Bank to understand how different teams collaborate to service clients. During my 2nd rotation in Trust & Securities Services, I was involved in researching digital bond issuances.

Yes, from day one I was given meaningful tasks and real responsibility. As the internship progressed, I was able to take on increasingly greater responsibility by being proactive which culminated in a co-ordinating meetings for my team.

I developed my presentation skills and learned how to communicate effectively in a professional environment. I also built a strong understanding of the products and solutions offered by the Corporate Bank and how these are used to meet clients’ needs.

Through Deutsche Bank’s mentor and buddy programme, I felt well supported throughout the internship and was given the guidance needed to perform at my best. My manager and recruiter were also highly supportive, providing regular advice, feedback and encouragement throughout the placement.

There was a strong emphasis on mentorship and supporting junior colleagues throughout the internship. Everyone I interacted with was approachable and willing to share insights into their role, experiences and career journey, which created a very supportive learning environment.

I really enjoyed my internship and found it a very rewarding experience both professionally and personally. I especially valued getting to know the team, being trusted with meaningful work and learning from colleagues who were always willing to share their experiences and advice.
