Yes, working at AWE under BAM was a unique experience, as I was given significant responsibility across multiple smaller-scale projects. This allowed me to take on more responsibility and gain broader experience than I may have had on a larger project, giving me the opportunity to develop my skills quickly.

Yes, I have developed my commercial and contractual skills significantly, particularly in NEC contract management, Compensation Events, Early Warnings, cost control and subcontractor management. I have also improved my communication, negotiation, problem-solving and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

I received a good level of support and guidance throughout my placement. I was given the independence to take responsibility for my own work, while still having support available when I needed it. This balance helped me build confidence and develop my skills.

The company culture was very welcoming and supportive, with a good balance between professionalism and a friendly atmosphere. I felt comfortable asking questions and working with different members of the team, which made it a positive environment to learn and develop.

I really enjoyed my placement with BAM and the experience I gained throughout the year. The experience has been valuable enough that I have accepted an offer to stay on with BAM, who are also sponsoring me through my final year of university. This gives me the opportunity to continue developing my commercial skills alongside my studies and build on the experience I have gained during my placement.
