Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Mostly I would be shadowing an engineer but I would organize tbs and quality checks and I would go out on site and see the different tests happening on the earthworks and I was also working on a report for my internship which I would work on

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

I was given some responsibility for example I had to make a task briefing sheet for one of the works which was very important as the task could not be carried out until that was done

Yes I have learnt how to use a gps and a total station and I have learnt a lot more of the theory work aswell and how the different tests are carried out

It was a brilliant company culture and general atmosphere it truly felt like one family everyone was very welcoming and nice and it made it so much easier

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I really enjoyed my internship I was able to experience different things on site and managed to do some social activities with the colleagues such as football and padel and I learnt a lot

I would firstly say that the company experience and the people you work with are brilliant they really do make you feel welcomed the work you do is fantastic and you get to learn a lot
