Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at Cisco?

My team and wider colleagues are friendly and helpful, it is a pleasure to work with the people at Cisco. In terms of work we use new technologies that are industry standard and frameworks that are emerging. There are opportunities to attend conferences, present to leadership and contribute to charity and social initiatives as a graduate.

What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?

The main responsibilities are coding and technical understanding of solutions. You will need to plan how products/ app can be implemented and often you might be the person with the expertise. Writing good code is important but also learning new technologies to bring to the team. Code review is another important element of the role, looking at other peoples code, asking questions and giving suggestions.
I enjoy being able to innovate the most, I take time to research new things and come up with a proof of concept. However this isn't something I get to do all the time it is usually once a week for a couple hours.

How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?

3/5
I will say other companies might have better packages but it is a bit of a tradeoff, I like working here for the culture, what I learn and flexibility with charity days, volunteering and work events. Other companies might be more rigid with these things.
