Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

My roles taking on work from real projects that and teams Rolls-Royce is involved with. I these I use my skills and knowledge built up mostly from my degree to complete tasks given to me. Along side this there is opportunity for me to gain new skills and learn more about methods of best practice within the company when it comes to work within Engineering.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

I was able to take on my own tasks and projects from day one with them being mine to manage, work on and own. This involved setting out my own timelines and my own requirements for the project. So as far as responsibility is concerned I was fully responsible for the sections I was given with the understanding that I could always ask for help

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

So far I have enjoyed most all of my placement. The only slight downside is the type of work I am doing at the moment is slightly reputative and slow. That being said I am very glad I am doing it as this has given me a really good insight into the type of work I would like to do in the future.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Rolls-Royce to a friend?

Yes

What advice would you give to others applying to Rolls-Royce

Go in with a very open mind to the type of work you will do as you may find something that you might not have through about doing at all until you started doing it. I would also recommend you talk about your passions as well as studying the company values. They might at first seem cliché but they really do underpin a lot of the work that is done on a day to day basis and will let you know what kind of company rolls-royce is.
