Overview of the Role
Overall, how would you describe your experience at NatWest Group?
The graduate scheme at NatWest has offered me exposure and experience in a breadth of areas within commercial banking from frontline client-facing roles to product design/improvement. There is also great support network from two managers - one supporting the day-to-day task delegation and another supporting the learning and development throughout the graduate scheme.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
I have completed three rotations, all of them I've been given responsibility to lead at least one project during my time in each team. I really enjoy supporting my managers who work with sophisticated clients (often PLC) and finding solutions to their complex requirements/challenges.

The graduate scheme has given me experience and exposure to a variety of job roles in banking, which I believe allows me to understand my own interest and have the option to apply for a range of roles. The understanding of how a bank operates is certainly invaluable.
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

Every rotation aims to develop different sets of skills, therefore towards the end of the graduate scheme I feel my skills are well-rounded. Graduates are also given study leave days to attain professional qualifications.

What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?

Colleagues are generally friendly and approachable, including senior leaders. Working policy is general flexible - my role generally requires 1-2 days per week in the office, as well as any additional requirements as per client requests.
