Overall, how would you describe your experience at Transport for London?
I have really enjoyed my time so far as a Graduate at TfL. There is a strong people first culture which has fostered my development and made me feel comfortable navigating such a large organisation. I have routinely been provided opportunities to undertake targeted training to broaden my knowledge. The overwhelming majority of colleagues are very friendly and ready to provide assistance on a range of queries.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
I have completed rotations across numerous business areas including Track, Vehicles, Systems & Performance, Safety, Human Factors and Innovation & Advisory. I have enjoyed the flexibility to undertake areas in varying disciplines as it has helped me develop a holistic understanding of business operations while also allowing me to learn what style of work I am best suited to.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

Each placement has been different, however in each placement I have been assigned with meaningful work. The placement manager has always made it clear the impact of the work and how it fits into wider workstreams.
How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?

The compensation is average for a London based graduate role. The main perk is free travel for myself and a nominee - which has been amazing as it truly saves you so much!
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?

I have been provided numerous opportunities to undertake training funded by the company which has broadened my knowledge and also upskilled me. Furthermore the company pay for my accreditation fees with the IMechE and have assigned me an individual mentor who supports me throughout the tenure of the accreditation process.
