Excellent. - there were various opportunities within the group for a graduate - from retail banking through operations, IT, project delivery and AI & Data. I was given a respectable level of responsibility for a graduate and was able to work on genuine business outcomes & impact strategy. There are also very decent avenues to pursue for progression, mentorship, and an emerging talent programme to ensure that the graduate scheme is able to act as a springboard to launch a longer career. LBG invests heavily in learning, mentoring and future skills. So team members are aware that graduates are there to work, to contribute and to develop. There is a real culture of support around the graduate scheme

I now have access to staff rate products such as mortgage. Discounted premium accounts, and insurance. Sharematch and Sharesave facilities offer me the chance to invest in the company at a discount. There are plenty of financial perks, and colleague offers where the group partners with retailers to allow early / cheaper access to goods and services.

Excellent vision of the future. Ai specific training for every colleague, embracing the future in terms of digital assets, and continuous development opportunities beyond the graduate scheme.

I have an excellent line manager. There are still pockets of very old fashioned, command and control style management cultures but these are rare -and getting rarer. The culture that LBG strives for is more collaborative, agile, fail fast and learn.

2 days a week with a commute, 3 days at home. Good ability to switch off after work, there are times when I get very busy - when delivery date for a project is imminent, but generally the work is good, LBG also have a workplace experience team to ensure equipment is functioning as expected and that the workplace is a pleasant place to be.

The workplace experience team provide it fixes, building maintenance and reduce minor quibbles that can cause frustration at work. There are events and opportunities to socialise in and outside of your team. There are learning & re-skilling opportunities, and the culture is collaborative between colleagues and line managers.

LBG has multiple networks setup representing various ethnicity, sexuality, neurodiversity and social upbringing types. I think it could do a little more on who & how roles are allocated. There still seems to be a hangover from previous culture where a significant percentage of executives are privileged, white, & male, but the modern culture, & modern recruitment practices do not appear to carry this bias. I think a little more could be done on supporting people from deprived backgrounds who often do not have the inate confidence / entitlement that allows them to succeed.
