CIB Summer Intern Review

I was part of the Coverage team, supporting colleagues who act as the main point of contact for institutional clients. My day-to-day work included assisting with annual client reviews, researching topics impacting institutional markets, preparing client presentation materials and pitch decks, capturing and summarising meeting notes, and building models to support new product initiatives, alongside other ad-hoc tasks.

Yes I was given a significant level of responsibility during my internship, with a steady workload and opportunities to contribute meaningfully to the team’s deliverables.

My technical skills developed significantly, particularly my understanding of the products the bank offers and how these solutions meet the needs of institutional clients. I also strengthened my knowledge of corporate client requirements, as our project focused on a corporate client case study.
My communication skills improved as well, driven by the collaborative nature of the role. I proactively scheduled regular catch-ups with colleagues across the floor to learn more about their responsibilities and gain broader insight into the business.
I also further developed my attention to detail through completing time-sensitive tasks and producing high-quality deliverables.
