Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

I would help the team with admin work, shadow the team to gain experience, collate information for client projects, network with different departments, look over slips, learn more about the insurance world and the products they offer

Some but not a lot, there are regulatory limits on what you can do

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

I have learnt mainly about being in an office and having a 9-5 job. i have learnt plenty of soft skills in that area but also some technical skills in the types of insurance products Aon offer and how different risks are placed and by the systems they use. i have become more proficient in excel and powerpoint

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

I received a fair amount of guidance over the 9 weeks - senior people were always happy to talk and some went out of their way to set up chats with me. They all offered great insight and spoke very well of their work.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

i did feel a very positive atmosphere for the most part - people were very talkative and i feel it was better than what most offices would be. Senior people especially were very friendly

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

i enjoyed it to a good extent - it was good to get a taste for work and insurance and the number of interns they took on and how friendly they were made the process a lot smoother
