Overview of Experience

Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.

Gained in-depth information on the role of the FCA in regulating the financial markets and promoting competition between businesses. Given the opportunity to speak to current employees ranging from executive, associate and graduate level about their experiences of being a black individual working in the financial services. Participated in an assessment centre and was given feedback of the groups performance and areas we could improve on.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?

It was very informative as the information given on the different business roles was in-depth. This really gave me a solid understanding of the responsibilities of the roles.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I learnt about the imposter syndrome and how I can flip it and use it to my advantage during interviews or in the workplace. Furthermore, I learnt about the skills needed to succeed in assessment centres such as, using the STAR technique when answering interview questions.

How would you rate business leader involvement during the insight

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

The culture at the company was extremely inclusive and the employees were approachable. Ambition and resilience are ingrained in the company’s culture.
