Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

My role as an Intern involves supporting the team through research, data analysis, report writing, and presentations. On a day-to-day basis, I analyse information, prepare reports and insights, create and deliver presentations, collaborate with stakeholders, and contribute to projects that support team and business objectives while continuing to develop my professional and technical skills.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes, I was given a good level of responsibility during my internship. I had opportunities to present my work and findings to the wider department, prepare reports and analyses for stakeholders, and contribute to projects with real business impact. I was trusted to take ownership of tasks, communicate insights clearly, and collaborate with colleagues across the team, which helped me develop both my technical and professional skills.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

Yes, I have developed several new skills during my internship. In particular, I have strengthened my data analysis skills by working with and interpreting information to generate meaningful insights. I have also improved my report-writing skills, learning how to communicate findings clearly and professionally. Additionally, I have developed my presentation skills by presenting to different audiences and adapting my communication style to suit different stakeholders, helping me convey information more effectively and confidently.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

I received a high level of support and guidance throughout my internship. I had access to multiple mentors and buddies who were always available to answer questions, provide feedback, and help me develop professionally. I also benefited from support through the Early Careers programme, which provided additional guidance, resources, and development opportunities. This strong support network helped me build confidence, overcome challenges, and make the most of my internship experience.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
