Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at NatWest Group?

My experience at NatWest Group has been extremely positive. As a Graduate Trainee, I've been given meaningful opportunities to contribute to real business objectives while receiving strong support from colleagues and managers. The culture is collaborative, inclusive, and focused on continuous learning, which has made it an excellent environment to develop both professionally and personally. The graduate programme has provided exposure to different areas of the business and has given me valuable insight into how a large, customer-focused organisation operates.

What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?

As part of the NatWest graduate programme, I have worked across different rotations, giving me exposure to various areas of the business. My responsibilities have included supporting customer experience initiatives, analysing data and customer insights, collaborating with stakeholders, and contributing to projects that improve customer outcomes.
The aspect I enjoy most is the opportunity to work on meaningful projects, solve real business challenges, and collaborate with supportive colleagues. The variety of experiences across rotations has helped me develop a broad understanding of the business while continuously learning new skills.

To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

5/5
My role provides significant opportunities to contribute meaningfully. From an early stage, I have been trusted with ownership of tasks and encouraged to share ideas and perspectives. My team is highly supportive and creates an environment where graduates are treated as valued contributors rather than observers. Regular feedback, recognition of achievements, and involvement in important discussions have made me feel that my contributions are appreciated and impactful.

How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?

4/5
I believe NatWest offers a competitive and well-rounded compensation package. In addition to salary, the benefits package provides meaningful value through pension contributions, wellbeing resources, flexible working arrangements, learning opportunities, holiday entitlement, and employee support programmes. The overall package demonstrates the company's commitment to supporting employees both professionally and personally.

How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?

5/5
The role is preparing me very well for my future career. The graduate programme provides a combination of hands-on experience, exposure to different business areas, stakeholder management opportunities, and professional development support. Working across rotations has helped me build commercial awareness, strengthen my communication skills, and develop a broader understanding of the banking industry. These experiences have given me confidence and a strong foundation for future career progression.

How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

5/5
I would rate this very highly. The combination of formal training and practical experience has been invaluable. Through the graduate programme, I have developed technical, analytical, and interpersonal skills while gaining exposure to real business challenges. Day-to-day responsibilities have helped me improve stakeholder management, communication, project delivery, problem-solving, and data analysis skills, while formal learning opportunities have provided additional structure and support for my development. The balance between learning and practical application has been particularly effective in accelerating my growth.
