Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
As a strategy consulting summer intern, I take assist and take some ownership over tasks in consulting projects, completing market research, peer benchmarking, and market sizing work.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Having been given the opportunity to take ownership over the competitor analysis workstream in my consulting project, I have had quite a lot of responsibility in my internship, ranging from initial research, developing an analysis methodology to creating client deliverables.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
Developed my existing market research and competitor analysis skills, and was able to put my understanding to what market sizing is in real-life context -- sizing the algorithmic underwriting premiums in the London wholesale market. I have also been given excel trainings by my line manager in my internship to upskill my excel usage / data analysis skills.

I feel very supported and received a lot of guidance during my internship - gaining project-specific support from project team members when completing project tasks, and also receiving advice from other colleagues in the team through coffee chats.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I enjoyed doing my consulting project the most - being able to contribute to the competitor analysis by leveraging my market research skills, while also developing new quantitative analysis skillsets when supporting the market sizing work in my project.
