Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Actuarial Intern over the summer. Equal split between client teams and technical work. In client teams, work such as funding updates and calculating liabilities. In the technical team there were training sessions about how to do different areas of work and how to calculate different things.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Lots of responsibility. There is a process of do-check-review with everything you do and you are the doer and whoever gave you the work is the checker. You would even send the emails of the work you have completed.

So much. You have a designated buddy and a manager with constant check ins. Everyone is very genuine and encourages questions when you're confused. Lots of opportunities to meet new people and work with lots of lovely people.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

Enjoyed it very much and it went so quick. Was very nervous to start a job in the first place especially as an intern but it was so easy to get settled in and get on with your work.
