Commercial Risk and Reinsurance Summer Intern Review

I was a summer intern working in a broking role at Aon, supporting senior colleagues in helping clients place insurance coverage with insurers. On a day‑to‑day basis, I helped prepare and organize submission materials, collected and checked exposure and policy information, and assisted with comparing quotes and coverage terms from different insurers. I supported the placement and renewal process by maintaining documentation, updating internal records, and helping draft clear summaries or slide decks for client discussions. I also joined internal and external meetings, took notes, and followed up on action items, which helped me understand client needs, market dynamics, and how negotiations are conducted. Throughout the internship, I focused on asking questions, seeking feedback, and contributing a fresh perspective while gaining a practical understanding of the broking process and how a large insurance broker operates.

I was given a meaningful level of responsibility during my internship, appropriate to my experience and always with good support.
