Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at Computacenter?

I have had a fantastic experience at Computacenter. Refreshingly, the culture is exactly how it is described on the website and you notice that from minute one. Everyone is so friendly, welcoming and people really are at the heart of the company. Development is a key part of the grad programme at Computacenter and the opportunities to learn, develop and network throughout the scheme has been excellent.

What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?

I have worked on multiple projects during the year. One as a migration manager, and the other on the Project Management Office working on AIS and delivery implementation. I am responsible for lots of reporting, meetings with the customer, but unlike other corporate jobs I have had, find this very interactive and engaging. We are given a lot of responsibility early on and a platform on which to succeed.

To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

5/5
My role requires me to track and manage multiple projects at the same time, giving me meaningful responsibility and making me feel trusted by Computacenter. The work we provide is instrumental to the operations of many of the companies we work with.

How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?

5/5
The companies has a good perks and benefits - including perks for work. The bravo scheme provides financial reward for positive customer feedback and achievements made, which are regularly given to high performers and those who make extra effort.

How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?

5/5
The projects graduate programme provides 2 months of training through in-person rotations with senior colleagues across the business, followed up by a paid-for project management qualification course & exam. You are then immediately allocated a project, and through development and mentoring, continue the learning and growth in real life, responsible roles. I feel like I have rapidly grown in the last year whilst on this scheme and am extensively prepared for my next step within Computacenter.

How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

5/5
I would rate the extent of my skills development as very high. Through a combination of formal training, graduate programme workshops, mentoring, and day-to-day project delivery, I have significantly developed both new and existing skills. My role has provided opportunities to strengthen project management, stakeholder engagement, communication, planning, risk management, and commercial awareness, while also gaining exposure to service transition, change management, and large-scale IT transformation projects. The variety of experiences has accelerated my professional growth and confidence.

Experience & Company Culture

How is the support you receive?

5/5
You have a dedicated line manager who prioritises the graduates with the utmost important. She is by far the best manager I have ever had and really takes a genuine care for her team. You can reach out to her at any time, have quarterly 1-2-1s and checkpoint assessments to ensure you're progressing as you should. Likewise, we are allocated mentors with senior management within UK Projects and buddies who were graduates in previous years. I have had monthly meetings with each of these, providing support, development opportunities, and guidance.

How is your work-life balance?

5/5
Excellent, you're never expected to work outside of contracted hours and holidays are actively encouraged. There is a balance in that within work hours you're expected to work hard, but if the workload is becoming too much, you're encouraged to raise it, rather than just reactively working longer and longer hours.

What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?

5/5
Computacenter has a positive, inclusive and welcoming culture that encourages collaboration, learning and development. Throughout the graduate programme, I have felt well supported by colleagues, managers and fellow graduates, with people generally willing to share their knowledge and offer guidance. The hybrid working model provides flexibility while still creating opportunities to build relationships and collaborate in person.

How would you rate Computacenter initiatives when it comes to equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility?

5/5
From the board down, there is a broad range of men and women, different races, ages, cultures and ethnicities. I believe Computacenter is a very welcome place for anyone, no matter you background.

How would you rate Computacenter CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives?

5/5
Computacenter are a very social company, with a big community feel to it. The offices often hold events, bringing people together. There are multiple initiatives for different social, environmental and community issues, with Computacenter running a community outreach programme at multiple local schools, and the opportunity to take 2 days off a year for volunteering opportunities.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Computacenter to a friend?

Yes

Why?

I would recommend Computacenter because of its supportive culture, strong focus on development, and the opportunities it provides to build a meaningful career. Throughout the graduate programme, I have had access to formal training, mentoring, and hands-on experience across a range of projects. The organisation places trust in its graduates and offers exposure to large-scale programmes and global customers, providing valuable experience that might not be available elsewhere. Combined with the collaborative and inclusive culture, this creates an excellent environment for both personal and professional growth.

How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?

5/5
The recruitment process was tough, and the assessment centre was a great but challenging experience. But much of what we did in our assessment centre we use in our roles now. Presenting, undertaking projects, and making difficult decisions are all things that I've continued to do on the programme. The opportunities, well structured environment, and people focused culture have been ever-present from the recruitment to day and well into the future.

When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to Computacenter?

Be confident in yourself and friendly to everyone you meet - your fellow applicants, as well as the Computacenter recruitment team. Ensure you're well prepared and have examples to refer to when describing your experience.
