Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at Computacenter?

The company culture fosters an environment that's easy to ask questions to anyone at any level. I feel as thought my Project Management career has been fast tracked with support and exposure. Overall, my experience has been positive and I hope to continue progressing within the company.

What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?

For the first two months of the programme I completed rotations within the different business functions - namely, pre-sales, TRG, T&T, PMO. During this time I received training on how to use MS Project, Excel and various financial tools alongside a Prince 2 certification which enabled me to transition into a Project Management role immediately after the rotations. I enjoyed the immediate responsibility as the confidence the business had in my ability led me to feel confident in my role - which meant I was a proactive LPM.

To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

5/5
My team listens to any escalations and solutions that I propose which creates a reciprocal working environment.

How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?

4/5
I feel the graduate salary is competitive with the prospect of a pay increase after the first year. However, the level of responsibility has at points felt unreflective of the pay.

How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?

5/5
The rotations built a good base level of understanding which has then been built upon with real project exposure throughout the programme.

How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

4/5
The variety of projects I have been on have meant I have developed both new and existing skills in my day to day role. The formal training was concentrated at the start of the programme which meant a lot of information was given quite quickly. I feel the pre-sales rotation would be best split in half, with the first half covering basic SOW understanding and CADRO items and the second half covering quote writing/commercialisation as it was difficult to digest.

Experience & Company Culture

How is the support you receive?

4/5
I felt the contact time at the start of the programme was the best, I felt supported and regularly met my peers in person; however, most of the programme/day to day work was remote and meetings with mentors/buddies were up to my discretion and their availability - with the demands of the role it made it difficult to make time.

How is your work-life balance?

5/5
My work-life balance is amazing. I work from home most the time which has allowed me to take up new hobbies and log on feeling refreshed and ready to work.

What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?

5/5
Very supportive. While everyone in the business is happy to answer questions due to a flat hierarchy having dedicated mentors/buddies has meant I have dedicated people I can go to with any questions/concerns.

How would you rate Computacenter initiatives when it comes to equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility?

5/5
The large number of groups and initiatives makes it a very inclusive company to work for.

How would you rate Computacenter CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives?

5/5
I particularly like the paid volunteer days as it recognises that corporate companies still have a place in local communities.

How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?

5/5

When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to Computacenter?

Be yourself, Computacenter fosters an ethos of winning together both with its customers and employees. Part of the recruitment process will be establishing whether you're a good fit and vice versa so just 'being you' will enable both you and the recruiter to identify whether this programme will suit you.
