Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at AstraZeneca?

My experience at AstraZeneca has been fantastic. I have felt well supported by both my rotational teams and my graduate scheme manager. The scheme offers numerous opportunities for personal and professional development, while remaining flexible and tailored to the needs and interests of each individual.

What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?

My first rotation was wet-lab based within the formulation team. My main responsibilities involved developing and extending my knowledge of a range of analytical and screening techniques, including size-exclusion chromatography, capillary gel electrophoresis, and buffer exchange. I particularly enjoyed developing my skills in experimental design, problem-solving, and troubleshooting, as well as working within a cohesive and supportive laboratory environment.
My current rotation is dry-lab based, with a focus on computational work. I have been supporting model development for in vivo studies. Although I had no prior modelling experience, I have felt well supported and encouraged to develop my skills in this new area. This rotation has also provided a valuable opportunity to expand my understanding of the preclinical research space.
