Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
I was based in the Retail Banking COO, and I was assigned a project that involved analysing customer migration patterns between different banking channels to inform future funding decisions. I primarily used excel to do this. I also shadowed my placement manager in some other work.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes—the project I was assigned is the largest data-backed project the team has on the area I was looking at, and my insights will be used to inform future decisions after I leave the bank.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
Lots! My manager was attentive and supportive throughout my internship. I was paired with a graduate buddy to assist with non-work-specific questions, and the Early Talent Team kept in regular contact via drop in calls. They also arranged various inductions to ensure we were up to speed when we started.

What advice would you give to others applying to NatWest Group
Don't stress! Do some research about the bank beforehand and make sure you know a bit about what you want to do and what responsibilities will be required of you. Be prepared to face some group exercises as part of the assessment process.
