Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

As a summer student, I supported a range of pensions and consulting projects while learning about the industry. My day-today work involves analysing data, carrying out research, preparing presentations and reports. I also worked closely with colleagues on technical and business focused tasks, attend meetings and contribute to team projects and wider company initiatives. As part of the internship, we also got to take part in an intern charity challenge to raise money for two great causes which was very fun!

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes, I was given responsibility during my internship, however, the team were extremely supportive throughout and made sure work was assigned at an appropriate level for my experience. There was no expectation that I would have prior knowledge of pensions, consulting or the software used. Everyone at Hymans was always willing to answer any questions I had and were super friendly.
