Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

As a Summer Analyst in Investment Banking, I supported the team with financial analysis, company research and the preparation of client materials. Day to day, this involved updating presentations, reviewing financial information, conducting market research and helping senior team members with ongoing transactions and pitches.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes, I was given a good level of responsibility while receiving guidance from the team. I worked on live tasks with deadlines and was expected to produce accurate, high-quality work. As the internship progressed, I was trusted with more ownership over parts of the analysis and presentation materials.

I developed my financial analysis, research and PowerPoint skills through working on client materials and live projects. I also improved my attention to detail, time management and ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
