Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at Computacenter?

I've had a great experience starting my career at Computacenter and have felt supported in my career journey here. There is a great friendly environment and at the company and everyone is willing to help where they can.

What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?

For my first project I had experience as a deployment manager working on a customer site 5 days a week leading a team of up to 4 engineers. This included team management and leadership, as well as daily reporting and updating being relayed to the wider team and dealing with technological issues as they arise. I was lucky enough to travel abroad while working on this project and would say that was definitely what I enjoyed most as a part of my role.
For my next project I was assigned to a PMO which involves running several smaller projects from initiation to closure, this includes reporting, planning, financial tracking, and resource allocation.
This has been a challenging role, but one which I am enjoying and learning a lot from. I've enjoyed the community atmosphere on the project and being able to see the positive impact that each project delivers.

To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

4/5
I feel that currently, I do feel valued in my team and that I am able to contribute meaningfully but that there is a small amount of room for further development in this area.

How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?

3/5
There are some perks and benefits, however I find the systems a little harder and more complicated to navigate which results in me tending not to use some of the perks schemes.
We do have a Bravo recognition system where you can be nominated for good feedback and rewarded with vouchers, I believe this is a good system.

How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?

5/5
We gain on hands experience and are placed in real project roles from as early as 2 months into starting the graduate scheme, this means that we gain plenty of in role experience before finishing the graduate scheme.

How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

5/5
In our first 2 months we obtained some great classroom style training that set a foundation knowledge as base before we started our role on projects across the company. It felt very supported and like we had the opportunity to develop in both a classroom style, and a hands on style environment. No two days are the same and there is always Opportunity for developing new or existing skills.

Experience & Company Culture

How is the support you receive?

4/5
We received a great support network as a cohort of graduates. Our line manager was extremely supportive and I always felt comfortable in being able to talk to her. Additionally, we had a buddy system in place where we were buddied up with previous years graduates, almost providing us with a built in support network from the beginning. There was also a mentor system in place but I think the support experienced from this differed between individuals.

How is your work-life balance?

5/5
I have rarely felt that Computacenter has prevented me from having a work life balance. Holidays are encouraged and if you are feeling that your work life balance is being effected you are encouraged to raise this to management.

What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?

5/5
Friendly and supportive environment.

How would you rate Computacenter initiatives when it comes to equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility?

4/5
They are very diverse and inclusive in their culture and hold internal and external events related to all areas of diversity and inclusion.

How would you rate Computacenter CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives?

4/5
2 days of volunteering for every staff member, ethical recycling of technology.
