Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Intern in the Smarter Regulator Programme Management Theme team - managing a portfolio of projects which are helping the FCA achieve its goal of being a smarter regulator. On a day-to-day, this includes using various BA, PM, PMO tools including roadmaps, metric trackers, traceability matrices, data analysis and reporting, and preparing for stakeholder meetings.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes, I felt as though I was able to genuinely contribute to projects, with value that will last beyond the duration of my internship.

Yes, I have developed many skills including presentation skills and interpersonal skills, and learned more including skills in the sphere of PMs like waterfall and agile methods, Scrum, kanban, and financials for projects.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Very positive, everyone was very friendly and approachable/ willing to give up there time. There was an emphasis on a positive work-life balance and a constructive rather than pressurising approach to work.
