Project Manager Review

I have had a great experience at Computacenter on the graduate programme. They are extremely welcoming and supportive and are keen to help you develop and progress. Computacenter place incredible importance of investing in early careers in order to benefit from new ideas and help develop the generation. The graduate scheme was very well organised with a great rotation around the company developing networks, learning project management capabilities and getting first hand project experience.

In my role I am working with the customer and internal project teams to deliver a project. My daily responsibilities include organising and running customer projects calls running through the project plan, raid logs and progress. Additionally, other project activities such as finances and governance and reporting. I really enjoy working with the customer and internal stakeholders developing relationships built on trust and honesty. Additionally, I enjoy tracking against objectives and reaching a shared goal.

This role enabled me to run projects as an LPM and create successful project outcomes. I have worked with various teams in projects where I have felt supportive and colleagues have helped me with my development. I have had some positive feedback on my project management capabilities on projects as well as good customer outcomes

I believe the role is absolutely preparing me for my future career. I am building various soft skills as well as project management and customer facing skills. These are developing everyday and enabling me to become a more effective project manager. This is very much developing me for my future career where I will be working with more senior stakeholders and working with more complex projects.

I receive great support within the company from many different colleagues. Firstly, from my network I have build and the connections I have who help me everyday. Additionally, I have had support from my line manager and my mentor who help provide support in my professional and personal development.

My work life balance is very good. I am able to manage my workload and project demands with my personal time and exercise routine. Always try to go on a walk at lunch to get the steps.

The organisational culture and atmosphere is very welcoming and positive. It is a safe environment to be yourself, develop and show who you are. Computacenter value diversity and place focus on being yourself and winning together. This is a lovely atmosphere to be in where their values align with my own.

I would rate the Computacenter initiatives as very good and proactive. They are always looking to focus on and develop equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility. We have different weeks focused on different values and topics and have a culture of being yourself and getting involved.
