Vacation Scheme Intern Review

I was working in the Corporate Energy and Infrastructure Team as an Intern. My tasks day-to-day would include helping to draft due diligence tables, conducting corporate research to populate corporate summaries, and creating company ownership structure charts.

Much of my work was used by trainees and associates to present to the client. I was given a good amount of responsibility with support and oversight from senior lawyers throughout the process.

I developed my commercial awareness skills which aided in supporting clients and understanding the work that the team does. I also learned about how to conduct company acquisitions from both the Buyer and Sellers perspectives. It is definitely knowledge that I will take into my text role.

I was given 2 trainees to act as my supervisors who gave me consistent support. I also received support and encouragement from associates and partners within the team.

It is a collaborative and friendly working culture. People look out for each other, and there is a genuine desire to see team succeed as a whole.

CMS exceeded my expectations in terms of training, collaboration and culture. My internship has been invaluable for my CV and personal development. The support has meant that I strongly enjoyed my placement and would recommend it to others.
