Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

The role was split between working as part of a scrum team of fellow interns and completing an independent research project. The scrum team project we were assigned was related to cloud control validation but every group's project differed. There was also information calls to attend arranged by the NatWest early talent team that covered skills we need and different business areas within the company.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

The responsibility given was well balanced between actually contributing something to assist colleagues in improving workflow, without people directly relying on our work as a core function. Our project lead has been very pleased with the work we have been doing and sees great value in it for the company

Support and Guidance

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

Every intern was assigned a graduate buddy and a programme experience consultant, who were both valuable in different ways throughout the internship. Each week we had separate catch ups with both to discuss our progress and any questions we had. Our scrum master also provided great support during our group project so we could work together effectively as a team

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I really enjoyed my experience of the internship, for the most part it was well organised so we had a clear plan and goals to follow throughout. I also like how there was 2 projects to complete to demonstrate 2 different aspects of our learning and development. Overall, I felt very well supported and enjoyed all the social activities that the company organised for us.
