Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

I am a software engineer working with a team of interns, we are assigned with creating a software different to every other intern team. But we are also responsible to learn about NatWest Group's values and incorporate it into our work.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

We have been given lots of responsibility as our project has the opportunity to grow into something very great and could be implemented further by us in a new role in the bank.

I've developed my communication and time management skills as I am constantly meeting new people and arranging my days accordingly to various meetings. Occasionally something like a coffee chat suffices.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

I was assigned a buddy and a programme experience consultant to assist me throughout the internship and they both helped in their own ways throughout the entire time I spent there.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Very friendly, everyone seems open to arrange time to have a chat and provide insight which is always a good sign for the office. There are regular opportunities for socials as well to meet more people in the office.
