Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
My role involved working on a 12-month placement project. Day-to-day activities include doing lab work, analysing experimental data, attending project and team meetings, and having 1-to-1 with my line-manager.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
My responsibility focused on my own project, however I did not have much responsibility in the wider team.

I learnt many new skills during my placement. These include tissue culture, flow cytometry, python and machine learning.

I had weekly 1-to-1 with my line manager to guide me through my project. I was also able to reach out to individuals with expertise in specific areas to receive more guidance.
