Summer Intern Review

The scheme was very well organised, and I genuinely learned a lot from it.
We had a two day induction and evening social based in the London office, giving us the chance to get to know our internship cohort from across all offices, before separating to go to our different regions.
I was in the Birmingham Office, and honestly couldn't have asked for everyone to be any more welcoming or supportive!
The work was very interesting; I rotated between Lit&Reg and Real Estate and therefore worked on a variety of matters from due diligence and CPR research notes to lease reports and deed reviews.
Commercial awareness was beneficial to understand the broader context of the work completed, but no initial legal knowledge was required.
Overall, the scheme was incredibly interesting and insightful, and I would highly recommend applying!

Very interesting to see the demands across all levels of seniority, and particularly understanding the value of client relationships and connections across all roles. Attending whole team meetings also provided a great insight into all the background factors that contribute to the day to day practice.

The ability to navigate complex documents, refer to relevant practical law, and quickly digest large amounts of information and present it with keen attention to detail have been the most important skills gained.

Very welcoming, the open plan format of the office has been really beneficial in helping the interns make connections.

I highly enjoyed the scheme, the work was stimulating and I felt genuinely challenged. The people were lovely and very supportive.

Demonstrate a genuine enthusiasm for the work - there can be a lot of it so you want to make sure you find it interesting!
