Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Opportunity to sit in two different practice areas offers a wide variety of tasks. The teams ensure that you are acquainted with tasks of varying complexity as well which includes legal and non-legal research, proof reading, and drafting. Reviewing contracts, witness statements, and sitting on client calls is also a common occurrence which has taught me a lot of skills in a short period of time.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes in varying degrees. A lot of the work I have done has been for ongoing matters and for real clients. This meant there were more constraining deadlines and faster moving tasks. Other tasks we more static where we were given tasks that had been given to others before.

Support and Guidance

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

In short - a lot. Senior and junior staff made themselves known and available for any queries that may arise, creating a space for asking questions and working through answers. This ultimately was a fantastic part of the internship as it truly allowed me to grow and adapt my approach continuously.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

The culture and atmosphere of the firm is one of the most compelling features about it. Everyone was incredibly welcoming and open for a conversation, ready to give guidance and have a casual conversation all at the same time. People have a relaxed quality about them and never fail to be enthusiastic when speaking to them.
