Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
My role involves assisting a practice group (2 per internship) with tasks that would be typically assigned to a trainee to better inform my understanding and receive feedback on my quality of work and overall value added to the team.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
A high-level of responsibility across challenging tasks, including tasks involving live work to assist my team on real client matters. This was significant responsibility knowing my work may be used to help inform a client or achieve their wider goals and objectives.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The company culture and general atmosphere has been incredibly welcoming and inclusive. I have felt welcomed by everyone in the office, from all levels of seniority and positions held. I have been involved in various social activities and provided the opportunity to connect and network.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I thoroughly enjoyed my internship and I am sad it is coming to an end! I have met lots of amazing people and received fantastic advice which I will take forward with me for years to come. It has been a great experience from start to finish and I hope to stay in touch with everyone I have spoken to and connected with.

What advice would you give to others applying to DLA Piper
My advice would be to come in with an open mind and willingness to learn. I anticipated what I thought my placement seats would involve but I thoroughly enjoyed the variety of work which I had not seen before. Each day is different and you must embrace both the positive experiences and those which are more challenging. You will gain a lot of valuable experience if you are willing to learn and step out of your comfort zone.
