Sat within two different practice areas. Was given tasks from legal drafting, filling in forms, researching key issues or updating register.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes, I had the opportunity to conduct both live work and simulated work to experience a rage of tasks!

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

I have definitely developed my ability to breakdown complex problems both to explain and enhance my own understanding. I have also developing my pattern recognition by proof reading core documents and spotting mistakes.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

I was provided both a supervisor and trainee buddy during the internship. It is great as you have a point of contact for receiving work but also for asking questions if you need direction.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Honestly it was great! Everyone was super friendly and there was regular events to engage with the wider office. There was both charitable events and diversity events whilst I was there too.

Honestly have loved every minute of the internship. The other interns are lovely and I would be delighted to work with any one of them in the future.

Get to know the firm first. They want people who align with the firm. At the start of the application window I aligned with DLA Piper most and this experience has confirmed that belief.
