Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

My role is in Information Practice. I spend my days supporting drug projects by conducting literature reviews, managing ad hoc analyses and having meetings. My day usually consists of project work in the morning and meetings with my team in the afternoon to accommodate for global time zones.

I was given a moderate amount of responsibility.

Support and Guidance

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

I was supported by my line manager with monthly meetings and a mentor for the first 6 months with wekly meetings. However towards the end of my placement it is becoming less frequent. The wider team is supportive and happy to help.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Company culture is very fun, there are always different events and socials happening. You do have to put yourself out there to take full advantage of the company culture. Most people are very friendly and welcoming. There are initiatives to increase diversity and become more inclusive, however I do still find that many socials are based around pubs.
