Overview of Experience

Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.

The insight programme included several training programmes, two assessments to test candidates abilities (one written assessment, one group presentation), and rotations in two areas of the firm. My seats were Litigation and Regulation, and Corporate.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?

Practically taking part makes it much easier to understand the business than simply reviewing a firm's website. It gave a great opportunity to find out more about all the practice groups through meetings with the country managing partner and partners in individual teams.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

In the Dublin office, the culture is incredibly friendly. There is an open plan layout, so I felt almost no division between interns, associates and partners. All levels of staff were very open to helping interns develop in the time we had available.
