Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
really enjoyed the insight, particularly my time in Corporate. On a day-to-day basis, I was introduced to different types of work via the practice area overviews, which made the experience very eye-opening. I also really enjoyed getting to know my cohort, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Graduate Recruitment were very friendly and approachable throughout The scheme, I felt supported from the offer holder day up until the end of the scheme.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
My experience was very interesting and varied. I was exposed to both specialised lawyers and those with a broader range of experience. It was really useful and insightful. The practice area overviews gave me a strong understanding of the range of work available . I particularly enjoyed learning about how each practice area contributes to the firm’s wider client offering. I also had several coffee chats with people across the firm at different levels, which helped me understand their experiences, career paths and what day-to-day life at the firm is like. Overall, it gave me a much clearer picture of the opportunities available and helped me feel more informed about where I could see myself developing

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
I had never used Harvey Ai before so I was introduced to how to ask effective prompts. I strengthened my commercial awareness by learning more about different practice areas and how the firm supports clients across sectors. I also developed my communication skills through coffee chats, networking and asking questions to people across the firm at different levels. Furthermore my ability to understand unfamiliar areas of law was strengthened as I sat in Structured Finance in the first week, a practice area I had never engaged with. This gave me a lot of confidence.
