Overview of Experience

Please give an overview of the virtual experience and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
The black future programme provided by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) hs been such a rewarding experience through useful insights and templates provided by current FCA employees. Particularly, the growing representation of black professionals within the organisation was very inspiring for myself. On a day to day basis we were informed of the company's operations, mission and goals. The next day was made of the assessment centre (written exercise, interview, and presentation), which was extremely challenging. Lastly, the final day was orientated around reflections, areas for improvement and rewarding insights/advice from the panel members.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
Inspirational, would be the operative word i would use to describe what it was like understanding what the FCA does and the potential roles available. As an undergraduate, it's easy to become complacent and narrow minded with regards to the professional path we choose. This experience has shown me that roles and opportunities are everchanging, and the most important objective is to stay true to yourself and your personal goals.

Would you recommend Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to a friend?
Yes
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Financial Conduct Authority (FCA)
Ensure you research what the FCA does, if their missions and goals fit in with your own personal development and allow yourself to be open with new people. Notably, build relationships with FCA employees you can learn from, or have inspired you during your own experience with the company. For myself, i find insights from Christian Durugo, Mariam Olatidoye and Joshua Sarpong very inspiring.
